Part 1: Logo sizing (any laser)
- Select your Logo Type.
- Enter your tumbler Perimeter and Height.
- Read the calculated Logo Width and Logo Height.
- (Optional) Use Width Override or Height Override to force a size.
What “proportional sizing” means: the logo is scaled to a good looking size for the tumbler so it stays readable without wrapping too far around the curve.
Sizing formulas by logo type
Wide
Height = 30% of tumbler height, Width = 30% of tumbler perimeter
Tall
Height = 50% of tumbler height, Width = 22% of tumbler perimeter
Square
Height = smaller of: 25% of perimeter or 45% of height, Width = same as height
Round
Starts with the Square height> above. Then width is slightly increased so it engraves looking more “true round” on the curved surface.
Full Wrap
Width = 100% of perimeter, Height = tumbler height minus (Top/Bottom margin × 2)
Use Full Wrap Margin if you want a little space at the top and bottom.
Overrides: If you type a Width Override or Height Override, the calculator uses your number instead of the formula.
Part 2: xTool P3 placement (P3 only)
- Select a Logo Position Mode.
- If needed, enter a Position Value (mm or percent).
- Enter your X Dim to Top of Tumbler value.
- Use the results (X Dim to Top and X Dim to Bottom) in xTool Studio.
This value is unique to your P3 and critical for correct placement:
Measure and enter the X Dim to Top of Tumbler (bottom of the chuck to the top of the tumbler).
How the position modes work
Distance (mm) from Chuck:
You enter how many mm down from the top you want the logo to start.
Percent from Chuck:
You enter 0 to 100.
0 = top edge, 100 = bottom edge.
Center on Tumbler:
No Position Value needed. The calculator centers the logo vertically.
Full Wrap note: Full Wrap ignores Position Mode and Position Value, and uses your Full Wrap Margin instead.
